Question: I have already come to terms with putting on weight as that is obviously inevitable. But how can I not put on fat? I am a healthy, slim build. I’m 21 and exercise regularly, and I have a healthy layer of fat on my abdomen. I also have a healthy diet so I don’t see any reason why I should change that so long as my baby is getting the nutrients it needs. I’m not planning on LOSING weight, but I want to look more or less the same as I do now after the birth. They say you need to eat more but can I just carry on eating the same way? I just don’t see why there is this inevitability that we will all get fat, it’s not necessary! Need advice?? And please no comments about me being vain- I wouldn’t do anything I think might harm the baby, and I can’t see how sticking to my normal healthy diet is going to do that. ” – by ” Sota
Answer: Well your body is gonna hold onto what it needs to no matter what you do. I was 117 lbs (5’3″) and I gained 40 lbs while pregnant! My friends kept it to 25 or less. I walked almost every day, did yoga 4 times a week and ate super healthy. I only ate 100-300 calories extra a day. It didnt matter. I just kept holding on to that weight. The last month of my pregnancy I said screw it, I’m pregnant, it’s almost over, let me eat whatever I crave. I ate brownies, donuts, ice cream. Guess what? I didn’t put on ANY weight that last month. Lol! The moral of my story is, walk, eat sensible, and be at peace with gaining weight. Know that it’s natures way to stock your body up with fat needed for breastmilk! Take a breastfeeding class or learn as much as you can about it before baby comes. I’m 7 months post partum and weigh 110 lbs. I have less cellulite than I ever did. I believe it’s bc the breastmilk is breaking down all that fat I stored for mybaby.

Question: I know they are worse than average because even my own doctor (a male) made remarks about them! I’ve been rejected by many guys because of them. I got them as a result of being put on the steroid pill prednisone–for severe preexisting medical issues–during a pregnancy. Before I got them, I used to wear bikinis but now I’m embarrassed. I worry that people will think it’s gross and see me as one of those trashy people who shouldn’t be wearing a bikini (along with obese people, people with bad cellulite, etc). But at the same time, it’s also embarrassing to be one of the only girls my age on the beach NOT able to wear a bikini (the other day, even some of the seniors and obese chicks had bikinis on, and even they didn’t have scarred stomachs!). I mean, even my best friend who always said she won’t wear a bikini (and she has her own body issues) posted pics on her Facebook of wearing one to the pool the same week I felt self conscious at the beach So if you were me, would YOU wear a bikini, or is it best I continue covering up with a one piece? http://www.photobucket.com/user/whatdoyouthink654/profile Look it’s nice that you guys are giving me nice pep talks to try and boost my self esteem, but truth be told none of you have really answered my question. Has anyone even clicked on the link and looked at my pictures yet? I’m looking for brutal honesty about my physique, not feel-good words. ” – by ” Jane
Answer: You should do whatever you feel comfortable with! Stretch marks are nothing to be ashamed of and you should feel free to wear a bikini if you want to. It’s part of who you are and you should always be comfortable with yourself, but you shouldn’t push yourself past your comfort zone. Everyone is beautiful, but only you can make this choice

Answer: Many people think that the shape of the body is purely genetic and there is nothing that can be done about it. The truth is that hormonal imbalances will cause excessive distortion of accumulated fat in different locations around the body. An imbalance on the inside can show up on the outside. Body shape is affected by hormones. Accumulating fat is directed to certain parts of your body based on what’s happening to hormones. For example; the stress hormone, called cortisol directs fat deep in your midsection whereas estrogen directs fat superficially around your hips and thighs (called cellulite). These body ‘shapes’ can give clues on what the body is attempting to do. Certain hormones have the purpose of directing where fat is placed on the body, and it is a distortion of this function that causes different body shapes. The primary purpose of fat is as a secondary reserve of energy, the primary one being sugar. Fat means survival to the body because it is stored energy. The body has a tendency to hold fat around vital organs that are stressed as an act of protection against starvation. During pregnancy, the body will accumulate fat usually around the hips and thighs, as this will ensure extra fuel for the growing fetus examples of body shape at site

Answer: You need to contact your physician ASAP! I know they aren’t quite the same but I work in a full service day spa and we cannot do any laser treatment or light therapy or airbrush tan treatment on anyone if they even suspect they may be pregnant. As far as I know, with the laser treatments we do, there is no known side affects for or against the treatment during pregnancy because honestly, who wants to be in the trials you know? My best advice is to talk to your gyno/midwife AND talk to the doctor who performed the procedure as they’ll know the exact frequencies and nitty gritty details. Good luck!

Answer: Despite all the definition of L carnitine, if you would like to take this as a regular supplement to help you lose weight, i think it is a no no. I used this before. L carnitine does help on burning fats in our body but it is not for anyone. Especially for those who are crazy for a hot body. and over consumed L carnitine. The fact is, L carnitine increases your appetite and always ensure your body to be in good condition so that it can build muscles. Once you have stopped consuming, the L carnitine level will not increase in your body, or not going to produce as much as it needed, but your appetite will still remain as good as during your L carnitine consumption period. naturally, you will gain weight again and become an athlete’s body, which means it will become more difficult for you to lose weight than before. But I think L carnitine is good for those who has metabolic syndrome, elderly ones and women after pregnancy. After all, you may use L carnitine on your skin instead (but for a temporary relief). Eg nivea is using it in its recent product named Good Bye cellulite gel cream

Question: I used to be 195 pounds in gr 5 but then i went for walks and now im in gr 7 and im 150 6ft tall ” – by ” skylat cc
Answer: Yes, stretch marks are usually caused by weight gain and then loss. most of the time it’s because of sudden weight gain like for mos women during pregnancy. But all human beings have stretch marks if they have gained and lost weight unless they are blessed with great skin. The only way to help at all is by using oils and creams and massaging them into the skin. It probably won’t make them disappear but it may help with the dimpling and sometimes cratering or cellulite around the stretched areas. Don’t worry, stretch marks are superficial and don’t make you unhealthy, just the opposite. the exercise and weight loss has made you healthier and that should boost your self esteem. Good luck and keep on improving your health. The rest is not worth worrying about.
